GOLD EYELASH VIPER Bothriechis schlegelii - Perfection in a pose - just like it was resting there in a dripping wet Costa Rican rain forest with the sun beaming in from above! What could make it more realistic? Perhaps some jungle bug fluttering past in the background??? Just as I was thinking that very thought, a cockroach came creeping up out of the hollow log photo prop I was using. See its antennae and head, down near the tail end of the tree viper? Alas, it was just a common old American cockroach, nothing exotic and scenic to enhance the image. After I shooed it away, I took another shot exactly like this one, sans intruder, of course!
